EVENTS ARCHIVE - notes from the past
As the poster explained, this project was all about exploring a theme that is universal to human living and central to Christian faith too.
Church members and Community Groups who use the church premises were invited to participate, expressing hope through displays of their activities, or through offering creative art - images, poems, literature etc.
Through an extended period the theme was a focus for Sunday worship and sermons with all coming together for the Harvest of Hope event.
It all provided opportunity to celebrate the hope that is experienced in many aspects of our human living, but also sharing what it is that Christian faith brings to this experience.
An exhibition of sculptures by Jean Parker outlining the responses and stages of grief and loss.
The exhibition provided a focus for personal reflection and was also utilised by local chaplains and 'This Way Up' who work with young people suffering loss in their lives.
It offered opportunity to share something of the Christian perspective and suffering, loss, death and eternal life.
